1843 First Norwegian settlements in Wisconsin
Dec. 7, 1844 First death = Halvor Ainesen Aasilrud
Dec. 8, 1844 St. Olaf congregation organized
Mar. 20, 1845 First marriage in St. Olaf parish = Hans Paus & Julia Gasmann
Sept. 7, 1845 First baptism = Lars Larsen
Jan. 25, 1846 Ole Rolefson Lojningen & Juro Margit Rolefsdatter were married in the log house that still stands on Lincoln Road east of Norwegian Road (Elmer Johnson farm)
Apr. 26, 1846 First confirmation
Nov. 22, 1847 St. Olaf incorporated and constitution adopted
1848-1849 First church built
1853 First Norwegian Lutheran Pastor = Nils Brandt
Feb 2, 1860 St. Olaf declares itself independent of Episcopalian church
1871-1874 Second church built (dedicated Dec. 10, 1874 )
1878 First parochial school
June 13, 1881 First women’s organization = Ladies’ Aid
1896 First ice cream social
1900 First Sunday school
1901 First synodical affiliation = United Lutheran Church
1903 First service in English
1914 First youth organization = Young People’s Society

1947 Name change from St. Olaf’s Norwegian Lutheran Church to St. Olaf Evangelical Lutheran Church
1959 St. Olaf separated from St. Johns to become fully independent congregation with its own pastor

1967 Parish hall built
1970 Sanctuary remodeled
1974 New wing added
1976 Dennis Johnson Pastor

1988 St. Olaf petitioned to be in the Greater Milwaukee Synod
