Road Side Clean up – Notice the litter gone on Hwy O??? Thanks to everyone who came to help with road side clean up and also thanks to those who were brave to help on Saturday in the wet weather. Good work everyone. We can smile that we are taking care of God’s creation and the beautiful area we are blessed to live in!
The 30-hour Famine – Friday, May 6th 6:00 p.m. till Sat. May-7th 6:00 p.m. at Holy Cross in
Menomonee Falls with 5 other youth groups. St. Olaf youth are mentioned in the article in the Menomonee Falls newspaper and will be in the Hartford, West Bend, and Oconomowoc newspapers.
This is another nationwide youth event that youth all across the nation are taking part in on various dates.
It’s similar to our Box City and a good learning experience to see how many hungry children live. Many interesting activities including a neighborhood scavenger hunt for food, games, baking bread & service projects are planned for the time.
Need a box to sleep in;
Who is interested in helping to make a difference for those less fortunate children?
Cost is $15.00 which includes a T-shirt and a “Break the Fast” Meal at the end.
Students will also need to get some donations from people who would like to sponsor you to do the 30-Hour Famine. Use the 30-Hr. Famine envelope you received with the information packet.
Those participating so far are: Hannah & Haley Roraff, Josie Ray, Jamie Christenson, Caroline and
Mitchell Kraemer, and Kristina Krassman. If anyone else is interested, call, text, or tell Justine and fill out the permission forms needed. Hand in the Permission & Medical Consent forms & $15.00 by May 1st.
The “Ashippun Bread Basket” Food Pantry in Ashippun is new and opened behind the White Post Office on Hwy 67 in Ashippun to help those in need right in our Community.
It is a joint effort with 5 churches: St. Olaf, St. John’s, Zion, St. Paul’s and St. Paul’s.
It opened Sat. April 16th for anyone in the area that needs food. Know someone, refer them there.
Everyone is asked to bring canned or boxed foods, peanut butter, toiletries, and paper products to
St. Olaf so we can help stock the shelves at the pantry;
Youth will have a chance to go and help stock the shelves and pack the grocery bags on Tuesday evenings or Sunday afternoons and also to help deliver groceries to the elderly shut-ins in our area.
Sign up if you’d like to help at the Pantry and you will be notified when we will go there.
Hanging Basket sale in time for Mother’s Day through Stange’s Greenhouse- Delivery will be Sat. May 7th. Need a few parent volunteers to help with the delivery and pick up. If we do the 30-hour Famine, Justine will be gone so we need help with the sorting of the baskets. Purple forms available in the Gathering area; take some and try to get orders.
Confirmation Banquet – Friday, May 13th. Pictures at 5:30 p.m. and Banquet to follow.
The 7th graders and parents will help prepare and serve the Banquet for those being confirmed and their families. Let Justine know if you cannot help. Info on serving will be given to you.
Refer to the memo given to you in class for all the Confirmation details.
Support of Tamirat – We made a commitment and we are behind in his support. Try and remember to bring your donation each time to class and if we miss class, please catch up the next week. Summer will be here and we will be wayyyyy behind. We could do a bake sale or something and the money could go to Tamirat?????
