TEC (Teens Encounter Christ)

The Teens Encounter Christ weekend is March 4-6 at Immanuel Lutheran in Watertown.  We have Hannah Snowberger attending as a weekender and those serving on team are:  Bella Christopherson, Hannah Scheife, Cody Millikin, Rachael Bergin, Josh Leinberger, and Justine Cadena. 

 

 

St. Olaf Partners with Family Promise
Encouraging families to help out together

Youth & families, along with other congregation members, have the opportunity to do mission work right here at our church.  We are partnering with Family Promise to help homeless families in our community by providing shelter, meals, and hospitality.  We will be the hosts for homeless families the week of March 13-20th.   If you feel Christ calling you to help out with meals or activities, see the sign up sheets in the Gathering area and sign up for a time and activity that will work best for you.

 

Scholarships

Scholarship applications with instructions are available on the kiosk in the Gathering area and are due in the office on May 1, 2011.  Anyone attending college to further their education may apply.   Let Justine know if you have any questions.      


 

Pie Auction
To Benefit Summer Bible Camp & Mission Trip

Our annual Pie Auction will be held after worship service at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2011  with entertainment you won’t want to miss.  Youth & families are asked to bring 2 pies each and we need parent/youth volunteers to help with cutting, labeling, and kitchen clean up.   This is a fundraiser for our youth going on the summer trip and/or to summer Bible Camp so those going are asked to come and help out.   We will need help from youth & parents to set up for the Pie Auction on Sat. March 19th at 10:00 a.m.

 


Youth Group for High School Youth

Don’t forget our “Get Real” High School group still meets the 2nd & 4th Sunday of the month at St. Olaf for Fellowship, Games, Snack, Lesson & Discussion on what we read & learn from the Bible and how we can relate it to our everyday Christian living; Bring a friend or two & your thoughts & questions.   On March 13th, we will help out with the families here through Family Promise.

 
 

Shorehaven Nursing Home

Remember youth volunteers (& one parent) to sign up for March 27th to go to wheel elderly to chapel.  Meet here at 9:00 a.m. and we will return at 12:15 p.m.


 

Lutherdale Summer Bible Camp

We are encouraging our youth, especially in middle school, to attend summer camp.  If you haven’t already, take a brochure and discuss.  Let Justine know if interested.  Scholarships are available for registration costs and Lutherdale offers incentives to sign up by March 15th. 

 
 

Summer Youth Trip
100 Mile Mystery Trip

Any high school youth not signed up yet for the summer trip, please do so asap on the Youth Board. 

The week will begin on Sunday, July 3rd through Friday, July 8th.   Our next meeting to discuss details, cost, and fundraising will be Sunday, March 27th for youth & parents.
