Summer Trip Planning Meeting for High School Youth & Parents
Hey High School Youth – It’s that time of year again when we make plans for our summer trip. It seems like some of us just got back from South Dakota a few months ago? We will have a meeting on Sunday, January 9th at 7:30 p.m. (during our youth group time) to begin making plans and get information. Parents input is needed and essential.
Youth Group meets on the 2nd & 4th Sunday of the month at 7:30 p.m.
The 4th Sunday of the month will be Movie & snack night here at 7:30 p.m. Sign up to bring your favorite snack to share with others in your Youth Group. A discussion with question and answer time and how the movie fits in with our everyday lives and Bible teaching are part of the evening. COME AND LEARN!
Tubing/Skiing/Snowboarding at Sunburst in Kewaskum
Who’s interested in going to Sunburst as a group? Sunday, Jan. 30th is the day we will set aside for this activity and outing. We will let you know the details at a later date. See the youthboard and sign up if you are interested.
Souper Bowl of Caring – Youth Volunteers Needed to help with Worship Service on Feb. 6th
Sunday, Feb 6th is the day most people like to watch the Super Bowl game and enjoy food and fun with family and friends. It’s also another day marked to remember those who are not able to provide enough food for their families, so therefore, we again will join youth all across the nation and take part in the National Souper Bowl of Caring, when we collect dollars and canned goods to help our local food pantries at a time when it is so critical to help those in need. We need Confirmation Class and High School Youth to help with worship service that day. We will be discussing this in our confirmation class and youth group time.
TEC (Teens Encounter Christ weekend)
Those high school youth that would like to attend the weekend need to fill out an application ASAP. Get an application from the Youthboard and return to Justine. Call Justine if you have questions, (262)224-5048. And those that are planning on being on team should send in their application if they have not done so already.
Shorehaven Volunteers needed: for Sunday, Jan. 23rd and the 4th Sundays of the months of Feb. March and April. We will meet here at 9:00 a.m. and we will return at 12:15. Remember to sign up on the Youthboard. This is a great service project and families are encouraged to sign up and take part together.
Attending Worship on Saturday or Sunday
All, not only some, 7th & 8th graders in Discipleship Training or Confirmation Class and High School should be attending either the Saturday at 5:00 p.m. or the Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m Worship Service. We also have a 10:30 Praise Service the first Sunday of the month at 10:30 a.m. You say you are tired, you say you work, you say it’s boring, you say you need family time, whatever your excuse is, none of that would be possible without God. We take so much for granted in our lives. We come to worship together to praise Him, thank Him, hear His word and learn how to live and apply what we learn to our everyday living.
Confirmation Class students should be doing your sermon notes. Some of you are doing a great job, good for you, keep it up. The rest need to remember.
Support for Tamirat in Ethiopia
We made a promise at the beginning of the school year to continue to support Tamirat through Compassion and we have been forgetting to bring our donations to class. When we don’t have class over Christmas Break or because of a service project weekend, we fall behind in our giving and to date, we are short. Please remember to bring your small donation and read Tamirat’s letter to us. He is so thankful to be able to get soap, clothes, and shoes with our support. He asks for prayers for his family and his country and he prays for us too.
