SOUPER BOWL SUNDAY

Feb. 1, 2009

We all know that there is a lot of excitement that happens on Super Bowl Sunday with people gathering together to watch the football game and enjoying food and snacks.

While at the same time, there are people struggling to put food on their tables daily.

So, once again, St. Olaf youth will unite with thousands of other youth across the country and collect money for those in need in soup pots before and after our worship service that day.

We are also asking that everyone bring canned, boxed and paper goods for the local food pantries.    Thanks and have a wonderful time spent with family and friends.

SKI TRIP TO POWDERHORN
in
Bessemer , MI - Sr. High retreat

Jon and Carol Evert have graciously invited us to have a ski trip and stay at their home in Powderhorn.  They were planning on going with us but will not be able to since they will now be the proud grandparents of puppies which will be born two weeks prior to us going.

All high school age are invited to go for skiing or snowboarding.  If you don’t ski or snowboard, this is your chance to learn.  I know some of you are good skiers and snowboarders and wouldn’t mind helping the others.  There will be other activities planned for the weekend too.

We will meet at 5:00 on Friday, Feb. 27 and return on Sunday evening, March 1st.  Get a permission slip and medical form from the youth board, have it filled out, and return to Justine.

Cost for one day of skiing is $45.00 ($84.00 for two days -Sat. & Sun) and rental is $28.00 for one day for skis, boots and poles, and $32.00 for one day for board with boots.  You can bring your own equipment if you have it which will reduce your cost.  We will be collecting $20.00 extra from everyone to cover the cost of the food and the maid that takes care of their home when we leave.      Sign up on the youth board and call Justine with questions.

Do I Have Your Email Address??

Hey, I like to get e-mail here at Church  youth@st-olaf.org and if you’d like to know what’s going on here at church and would like to get an e-mail message about it, send me your e-mail so I can send you an e-mail.  I already have some of them, so if I do, just send me a message anyway.  And check your mailbox downstairs as you enter the Youth Center .

Thinking of you, Justine
