Mark your calendars so you won’t miss out & see you all at church

 

“SOUPER BOWL OF CARING”   Sunday, February 5th

Collection & Celebration Worship at 9:00 and 10:30 a.m.

 “SOUPER BOWL OF CARING” a nationwide youth effort to tackle hunger in communities THANKS you for your donations of food & money.  Donations are given to local charities and St. Olaf’s will be given to the Ashippun “Bread Basket” Food Pantry.   We celebrate that we can be servants of Christ and reach out to those in need by doing the smallest things.  Canned fruit, canned vegetables, boxed main dishes, granola bars, oatmeal, & peanut butter & jelly are suggested.   Youth will be needed to take the items to the pantry on WED. FEB 29th at 6:00 p.m.   

NO CONFIRMATION CLASS ON SUPER BOWL SUNDAY, FEB. 5TH. Enjoy the game and time with family & friends.  Those youth that want service hours can participate in the Souper Bowl of Caring as noted above.  

 

TEC (Teens Encounter Christ)

Please keep in prayer the all the youth attending & working on Team for the Feb. 3-5th weekend (adults too)  Serving in the name of Christ from St. Olaf’s will be Hannah Scheife, Cody Millikin, Josie Ray, & Justine.

HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH & PARENTS  GATHERING

High School Youth & Parents meet on Sunday, Feb. 19th at 10:15 a.m. to finalize plans for the Pie Auction and plans for making the dinner for the homeless families from Family Promise on Sunday, March 4th and other upcoming youth activities.     We’ll meet downstairs in the Youth area.  

 

 

VALENTINE’S  DAY  DANCE PARTY

Better than last year, more youth invited!   Urban ministry training, dinner, & dance for High School Youth at Holy Cross Church in Menomonee Falls on Sunday, February 19th from 3:30-9:00 p.m.  Freewill offering at the door for student scholarships.   Invite your friends to join you.  We will meet here at 3:00 p.m. that day and carpool to Holy Cross.   Sign up on the Youth Board.  Need another parent driver to go. 

 

SHOREHAVEN  NURSING  HOME– Sunday Feb. 26.

Please sign up on the youthboard and meet here at 9:00 a.m.  We will return about 12:15 p.m.   We are very much appreciated by the residents and staff at Shorehaven. If you haven’t had the chance to go yet, please sign up.   We currently have two residents there that are from St. Olaf’s.  

 

FOOD PACKS AT ST. AIDAN’S  in Hartford

All ages encouraged to sign up for this worthwhile yet fun event

Pick a day that works for you and sign up to go and help pack food packs “For the Love of Haiti” at St. Aidan’s.

We can go as a group or you can go as a family or individual or with friends.  The dates in February & March are listed on the sign up sheets & poster in the Gathering area.  Call (414)588-3788 for more information or to reserve your spot.  A donation of $20.00 per person is needed to cover the cost of the food, packaging & shipping.  You pay at the door on the day you check in to do the pack.

                                                               

PIE SOCIAL/AUCTION

Youth, Families, & Congregation Members: Mark your calendars for Sunday, March 18th, at 10:15 a.m. after Worship Service.  Reserve the date and enjoy some added features to the pie social.  Entertainment provided and new this year will be theme decorated cakes.    Any youth or adults that would like bake & decorate a special cake for the event are welcome to do so.  Also, anyone wanting to take part in the talent portion of the entertainment for the auction should let Justine know.  Proceeds help support the summer trip, camp, retreat & other youth events.  Confirmation class & high school youth are needed to run the event.
