Upcoming Youth Opportunities for 2008-2009

Parents should discuss with their son or daughter & contact Justine with questions (262)224-5048 then PLEASE SIGN UP on Youth Board in Hallway where appropriate

 

Ongoing                      Bring canned or boxed food and paper products for those in need and put in barrel

 

Dec. 1, 2008                 Applications for TEC in Feb. are due NOW  (for team and first time weekenders)Applications are on the youth board or download one from www.badgertec.org & fill out and return to Justine or send in yourself (let Justine know if you are sending one in on your own)

 

Dec. 3                          Lutefisk Dinner – come help and be part of the excitement; Bring family & friends to dinner

 

Dec. 6 & 13                 Practice for the Christmas program 9:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m.  

 

Dec. 6                          for the girls & Moms that know them - Baby shower for Stacy & Dave Goralski who are adopting a baby from Haiti – Meet here at St. Olaf and carpool.  Let Justine know if you are planning on going

 

Dec. 6  & 13                Christmas Caroling to elderly in area – Meet here at 6:00 p.m.   On December 13, we will have hot chocolate, food, fellowship, and games here at St. Olaf after the caroling

 

Dec. 7                          Open House for Christmas at Pastor Matt & Laura’s from 3:00-6:00 – Stop by and visit and enjoy some great treats & conversation   (Look for the invite in the caller & bulletin)

 

Dec. 7                          Confirmation Class will be held at Pastor Matt & Laura’s at 6:00 p.m.  Parents are asked to join us.

 

Dec. 14                        Christmas Program – 3:00 p.m. Set up at 1:30 ; actors, helpers, etc. be here by 2:00 .  Everyone invited – food & fellowship following the program

 

Jan. 9-11, 2009             Confirmation Retreat to Youth Quake at the Wilderness in Wisconsin Dells; detailed info will given to students in class & e-mailed home

 

Jan. 31                         Souper Bowl of Caring Service Blitz - go to Food Pantry – Sr. High youth, confirmation class, families, adults  (time to be announced)

 

Feb. 1, 2009                 Souper Bowl of Caring – Collect for the hungry in soup pots at worship service 

 

Feb. 5-8, 2009              TEC at Immanuel Lutheran in Watertown (team training dates are Jan.17 & 24th)  

                                    Check out www.badgertec.org to get your applications for a first time weekender or a team member and to see the picture of TEC at St. Olaf   (for high school youth)

 

Feb. 27-Mar 1             Ski Trip/Retreat for High School youth to Powderhorn & stay at Jon & Carol Evert’s cabin. Leave Friday, ski Sat & Sun. and return Sunday eveningCost approx. $135.00 for ski pass, food & transportation; ski equipment rental is about $56.00 extra for the two days.   You can bring your own equipment.  Sign up on youth board

 

March 29, 2009           Our annual PIE AUCTION; Sr. High invited to come bid on pies; Confirmation class helps to serve; Anyone have a talent to share for the entertainment ?
