Helping out at our annual LUTEFISK DINNER
Confirmation Class and High School Youth are once again needed to help out at our annual Lutefisk Dinner on Sat. Dec. 4th between 11:00 and 5:00 p.m. You all know how much fun that is, so come and join the festive atmosphere while helping out where needed. Sign up with Justine so she knows who is able to be there.
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM
Our annual Christmas Program is Sunday, December 12th at 3:00 p.m. (arrive by 2:15 p.m.) Thanks to the youth (preschool through high school) and adults that volunteered to celebrate the real “Reason for the Season” with this annual tradition. There will be no youth group at 7:30 p.m. that night since we’ll take part in the program & fellowship time afterward.
SHOREHAVEN NURSING HOME
We are NOT signed up to go on the 4th Sunday in Dec. because of Christmas. Please sign up for January 23rd
MOVIE NIGHT
Movie night for the high school youth will be Sunday, Dec. 26th at 7:30 p.m. Bring your sleeping bag or pillow & blankie if you want to lie on the floor to watch the movie. Snacks will be provided. Bring some friends!
TEC (TEENS ENCOUNTER CHRIST)
Sr. High Youth in grades 10 & up are invited to attend a Teens Encounter Christ weekend retreat, March 4-6, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran in Watertown. There is no cost for you to go for the first time. You only need to pay if you are returning to work on team.
You would need to miss school on Friday, March 4th since it begins at 9:00 a.m. on Friday and would return on Sunday, March 6th about 5:30 p.m. Ask Cody, Hannah Scheife, Kayla, or Bella about it. Check out the brochure on the Youth News Board in the hallway and let Justine know if you are interested by Dec.12th.
Those of you that have attended a weekend and would like to serve on team, the training dates are:
Sat. Feb. 5th 9:30 – 12:00 p.m. if you are asked to be a student leader; and Sat. Feb. 19th 9:30 – 3:00 p.m.for everyone on team. Team leaves for the weekend on Thurs. Mar. 3rd at 5:15 p.m. Your applications need to be sent in December to assure you a spot. Talk to Justine and let her know if you are planning on being on team by Dec. 12th. Also, if you are planning on inviting someone to attend the weekend, we need to give them an application and return it to me to send it in by Dec. 12th. Applications are in the envelope attached to the Youth Board.
STOCKING THE SHELVES AT THE FOOD PANTRY
Students are needed to take the Thanksgiving Offering items to the Local food pantry and help stock the shelves. We will let you know of the date & time. Sign up on the youthboard if you are interested in this service project. “Truly I tell you, just as you did it for the least of these who are members of my family, you did it for Me”. Matthew 25:40
YOUNG ADULT (Post High School) GET TOGETHER
Plans are in the works for a reunion with all the St. Olaf Youth that are now out of high school and either working or in college. We will have the get-together in January while the college students are home on break. Watch for more details regarding the day and time. It will be nice to see everyone and look at pictures of past events.
